Me and my dad make models of clipper ships.
I'm a half breed ethnic from the South and places covered by water.
My body is covered in scars and ink.

How long I have been playing:
I joined the ironsides in 2005, and after our trip to Dublin I took some time off. I joined my brothers back on the pitch a year ago and plan to continue to beat up my body as much as it and my doctors can tolerate.
Favourite Rugby Moment:
The moment that continually brings it home for me is the Bingham Cup NYC, the final in our division, and we were in triple overtime. The field was sweltering and I lost the ability to think clearly. You could see the heat rising off the artificial pitch and I could feel the metal cleats burning my skin but was afraid that water would make it hotter ( I told you I was delirious right?) and just when all of us were minutes away from heat stroke we kicked a game-winning field goal. IT WAS AMAZING! The celebrating that took place is all a blur, but we won!
What does playing rugby with the IRONSIDES mean to me?:
It's a family
- a band of brothers - a rope made of many threads - the Ironsides is a warship that has taken a beating over the years but do to a strong resolve has never fallen.
What would I say to someone thinking of joining?:
Rugby: it requires conviction, a willingness to always learn, the ability to be in a constant state of change, a heart and a soul. It's not for everyone, but if it is for you.... it's one hell of an addiction. The only way to know is to get out there and see if you can grow a pair. See you on the pitch! |
