About Me:
I hail from Buffalo, NY yet have never ice skated or skied in my life! I work in higher education at Harvard University’s Extension School. In my down time I write, watch movies only once (unless it’s Legally Blonde), and keep up on my fitness at the gym with weightlifting, spinning, and I’m a novice at yoga. You can occasionally catch me belting out ‘Killing Me Softly’, “Superstar’ or “Someone Like You’ at a local karaoke joint. If singing were taken away from me I don’t think I could live. Other than that, grab a pint, pull up a stool, and let’s talk about why we love Rugby so much!
How long I have been playing:
Not even a year, but feels like forever! I love this sport.
Favourite Rugby Moment:
Playing in my first scrimmage, not having a clue of what the hell I was doing, and having the ref of the match come up to me after the match to say, “if you keep with this rookie, you’ll kick ass for this team.”
What does playing rugby with the IRONSIDES mean to me?:
It’s all about the TEAM, a group of guys putting it ALL out on the line to score a try. When one guy scores, the whole team scores, it’s that simple. I’m proud to be a part of a rejuvenated organization that is ready to stake its claim as a force to be reckoned with.
What would I say to someone thinking of joining?:
WHAT’S STOPPING YOU??!! There are so many misconceptions of what type of athlete can play this sport. This is a sport that needs all shapes and sizes. We need fast guys, we need strong guys, we need skinny guys, we need BIG guys. If you have dedication, some fundamental athletic skills, and a true desire to win, GET YOUR BUTT ON THE PITCH!!!! I’ll be there with you!!!
